But when the book is written by someone with the reputation like Richard Quest’s… well, that is something that would be worth reading, for sure. Isn’t it incredible that as of today we cannot tell what happened to that flight? We can successfully put rovers on Mars’ surface, scrutinize the composition of Saturn’s rings, produce nano-robots to cure diseases, but still fail to simply track a 240-ton, 74 m-long Boeing 777 jet flying over one of the most populated areas of the world! This, by itself, would suffice to attract our attention over that theme. The MH370 disaster is one of those stories that calls out the attention and the curiosity of anyone who is worried about travel safety, politics and information handling. And that was precisely what happened to me when I realized that, among many books that were written about the infamous Malaysian Airlines MH370 disappearance, I spotted the one published by Richard Quest, CNN’s anchor and aviation correspondent, named “The Vanishing of Flight MH370 – The True Story of the Hunt for the Missing Malaysian Plane”. As a frustrated non-pilot and as an air-modeling hobbyist, it’s no surprise I am usually attracted by news or books related to this subject. One of my (not-so-hidden) passions is aviation.
